The best place to start here is that we are all human and sometimes knowing the first step to overcoming illness and pain to lead a more comfortable life is one thing, actually putting it into practice can be something else.
We may think that we have it sorted and ‘Bam!’ we realise we have a little further to go on our journey. Either way, we still know that our first step is correct for us, even if as of yet, we do not know how we are going to get there. As a friend of mine said in his preparation for a Triple Iron Man:
“The best way to eat an Elephant is one bite at a time.”
So what is the first step? I hear you ask. The answer is Acceptance.
Acceptance is key for many reasons, but the main one is if we are not accepting our situation exactly as it is how can we build our plan to overcome it. As Byron Katie so nicely puts it:
“I am a lover of what is, not because I’m a spiritual person, but because it hurts when I argue with reality.”
To me, this is so true because reality is exactly how it is supposed to be.
“Life is simple. Everything happens for you, not to you. Everything happens at exactly the right moment, neither too soon nor too late. You don’t have to like it… it’s just easier if you do.” – Byron Katie
There are so many points to break down from this quote but for us at this point the key is to accept our situation, we don’t have to like it because our aim is to work towards changing our current situation to one of health and comfort and that is what we at Natural Healing Resources aim to support you with, but from the point acceptance because only then can we change our current predicament.
